Halloween Events
Fright Nights is an annual halloween-themed experience with haunted houses, rides, creepy decor, and live performances.
New for 2023 is 'The Void' haunted house and the return of Carn-Evil.
There are 8 haunted houses, 15+ rides, and 'Opening Scaremonies'.
This is a ticketed event. You must buy tickets to enter.

Note 2: They have an early entry add-on for $20 that allows you to enter some of the haunted houses up to an hour early.
Note 3: They also have a rapid pass that gives you priority access to the haunted houses and 5 rides.
Tip: Go early and try to do as many haunted houses as possible because later in the evening there are usually lineups to get in to all the haunted houses.

HowlOver Canada is an amusement park-type ride that simulates you flying with a Halloween theme.
This year you are flying with 'Biker Mama the witch' and other spooky sidekicks on your way to an out of this world music festival!
This is split into a pre-ride video show, pre-boarding, and the actual FlyOver.
Costumes are welcome and encouraged.
This is a ticketed event. You must buy tickets to go on this ride.
They have a self-guided scavenger hunt. Additionally, they have Face Painting, Balloon Art or Other Boo-rilliant family entertaiment from 1pm to 4pm on Oct 14-15, Oct 21-22, and Oct 28-29.

Halloween Mystery Nights is an outdoor game put on by Vancouver Mysteries where you are a paranormal investigator secretly protecting the city - can you solve the mystery?
We aren't sure that this event is actually Halloween themed so research it yourself before doing it.
This is a self-guided adventure and unique sightseeing experience. Teams must return within 2 hours to return game gear.

Murder Mystery Mayhem is a murder mystery game done by Vancouver Mysteries in conjunction with the Vancouver Public Library(VPL). This is where you explore the Central library while searching for clues!Can you solve the mystery?
Calling all detectives for an afternoon of whodunit among the stacks! Who killed Sherlock Holmes and why was he in the library?
Come explore Central library while searching for clues to solve this haunting mystery. Using permanent art, architecture, and library collections you will discover the answers to various puzzles and challenges, leading you to unmask the villain and gain victory!
Games take approximately 90 minutes and will run throughout the afternoon starting at 1 pm. You will receive an email with your specific start time and other mysterious details. It takes about 5-10 minutes to make your way through the Barclay Manor which has been converted into a spooky, scary house!

The Dead Strange Fellows Haunted Brewhouse is a Haunted House in the Strange Fellows Brewhouse.
"Did you and yours dare enter this swamp of horrors teeming with the terrifying creatures from the land of the dead and can you make it through without becoming the body in their brew!"
This is a self-guided tour throught the haunted house with groups of 6. You are encouraged to dress in a halloween costume.
There will be a food truck on site.
This is a ticketed event with 30 minute time intervals. Tickets can be purchased online.

There are fantastic halloween displays put up in front of the heritage houses on the 900 block of Bute Street.
One house normally has a giant pirate ship coming out of it! It is an amazing display!
These houses give out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night!
The apartment building next to the houses also gives out candies on Halloween Night. They used to do an elaborate halloween display, but have scaled back in recent years.
This is the main block in the West End of Vancouver for Halloween! Thousands of people come by on Halloween night to see the displays.

Primarily known for it's fantastic Christmas displays, the 2400-2900 blocks of Trinity Street now put up fantastic Halloween decorations.

Trick or Treating
most residential streets will have homes that do trick or treating and give out candy. more common now are malls and commercial businesses giving out treats. some of the Business Improvement Associations have trick or treating by their businesses.
This is an annual trick or treating event on West Broadway for kids and pets!
Visit over 50 merchants for free Halloween candy, sweet treats, and pet treats all along West Broadway between Collingwood to Larch St. Just look for the pumpkin in the window and the wagging tails!
Starts at West Broadway at Macdonald.
Participants can pick up their FREE treat bag and map of participating locations, and enter to win Halloween prizes!
They will also be collecting non-perishable pet food and donations for the BC SPCA. Any donation is pawtastic.

All Souls at Mountain View Cemetery is an artist led, non-denominational, annual event to honour our dead.
People are invited to light candles, write messages and create personal memorials and place them on public shrines.
Often there is live music, and small fires to gather around.
On October 29, 2023 there will be a Mourners Tea from 12pm-1:30pm. This will be a community conversation about death and grieving through personal experience. This is an ONLINE event. All Ages welcome. Register by emailing: info@nightforallsouls.com
On November 1, 2023 there is a closing procession to the shrines where the written messages and memorials are gathered, the names are read out load, and then the messages are burned.

The Stanley Park Ghost Train is a halloween-themed miniature train ride.

The Stanley Park Junction is decorated with halloween decorations, and has a haunted barn, and maze!
The evening trains have live actors in costumes. The matinees do not have live actors and are for younger children.
